We in the Lincoln Group of DC remember Buzz as one of our intellectual giants and as a leader who always responded to the needs of our organization. His contributions to our organization were many – as a two-time president, mentor, tour leader, speaker and writer. We admired the depth of his knowledge and scholarship regarding Abraham Lincoln and carefully listened to his teachings. We learned from him. He will be sorely missed by all of us.

The obituary documents a life well-lived, one filled with impressive career achievements, a sharing of a love of history with others, and moments from his personal and family life including his affection for animals. This is truly the life story of a “Renaissance Man.”
Our thoughts are with the Carnahan family at this sad and difficult time.
