Abraham Lincoln Institute Symposium Moving to Virtual

By David J. Kent

Washington, D.C.

Saturday, January 29, 2022

The annual Abraham Lincoln Institute (ALI) symposium originally intended to be held in-person at Ford’s Theatre on March 26, 2022 is now going to be held virtually. Necessitated by the high incidence of the omicron variant of COVID, the city of Washington, DC recently instituted stricter safety requirements for in-person. As such, Paul Tetreault and his team at Ford’s have determined that they will not be able to host the ALI symposium at the Theatre.

Instead, as was done each of the last two years during the pandemic, Ford’s will work with ALI to host the event virtually via the Zoom platform. Speakers already confirmed for the live event and expected to speak on the virtual are Christopher Bonner, Michael Burlingame, Thavolia Glymph, and Jonathan White. The final details of the program are still being worked out for the new format. Check back here at Lincolnian.org for all the particulars as soon as they are available. The program will also be posted on the ALI website.
