Noted historian Matthew Pinsker will present to the Lincoln Group of the District of Columbia on October 13, 2026 the insights he gathered about Abraham Lincoln and the politics of the Civil War for his book, Boss Lincoln (W.W. Norton, 2026). With an array of newly discovered or previously overlooked private documents, Pinsker helps readers understand the career-long party politician whose brilliant coalition-building during the Civil War set the foundation for emancipation and Union victory.
