About the Event
The Lincoln Group of DC begins our 2023 season with a Zoom Only meeting featuring Diana Schaub to discuss her book, His Greatest Speeches: How Lincoln Moved the Nation. The Lincoln Group’s book study forum has recently completed an intensive discussion of Schaub’s book, which analyzes three of Lincoln’s most iconic speeches: The Lyceum Address, the Gettysburg Address, and the Second Inaugural Address. She brings a deep understanding of the greater meaning of each speech, and provides unique insights that will make you rethink what you know about Lincoln.
Schaub is a Professor of Political Science at Loyola University Maryland and a Visiting Scholar in the Social, Cultural, and Constitutional Studies department at the American Enterprise Institute. She has also taught at Princeton University and Harvard University. Since 2020 she has been on the board of the Abraham Lincoln Institute.
